Dr. Annette Moser
Professor and Chair
体育菠菜大平台 Department of Chemistry
Chemistry is often referred to as the “central science”. The information and ideas you’ll learn in your chemistry classes will be applicable to everyday life, to other courses you’ll take, and to your future career. In fact, it might be better to say that chemistry is the “practical science”.
Our department is made up of faculty that have expertise in each of the major areas of chemistry (analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic, and physical). Each of the 11 faculty members has earned the highest degree in chemistry (Ph.D.) and several have even received recognition for their excellence as teachers and researchers. With small class sizes, you can be sure that we will be interested in your progress.
The faculty in our department strongly feel that undergraduate research is vital to your education as a chemist. In fact, nearly all of our research involves undergraduate students working on nationally and internationally recognized projects. I invite you to be involved in these projects. In addition to learning modern laboratory techniques and receiving hands-on training with the instruments that chemists use everyday, research students often present the results of their work at regional and national meetings. Many even publish their research results in major chemistry journals.
